Barn Owl - Work in Progress 2

Well, I have the wood in the barn and hay bales almost finished. Now it's time to work on the owls.



The wood isn't nearly as 'whitewashed,' but due to the size of the piece (and it being mounted on a board), I had to photograph it instead of scan it. Thus, there are some strange light things going on. There's still much more work to be done, but I think it's coming along nicely.

    It's coming along very nicely! I love doing texture like the wood in the background. I can't wait to see how you handle the birds themselves.

    J.A. Baker: Thank you very much! I will be sure to post some works in progress of the owls. I am almost done with the painting itself, but it's coming along slowly. At this point in the painting, I'm so eager to see it finished that I risk rushing, so I force myself to go slow.

    And I agree on wood texture - it's very fun (and challenging!).
