
The wood isn't nearly as 'whitewashed,' but due to the size of the piece (and it being mounted on a board), I had to photograph it instead of scan it. Thus, there are some strange light things going on. There's still much more work to be done, but I think it's coming along nicely.

ReplyDeleteJ.A. Baker: Thank you very much! I will be sure to post some works in progress of the owls. I am almost done with the painting itself, but it's coming along slowly. At this point in the painting, I'm so eager to see it finished that I risk rushing, so I force myself to go slow.
And I agree on wood texture - it's very fun (and challenging!).
